How To Root Samsung Galaxy S3 (KitKat)

Rooting is always a favorite with users who wish to have more control and administrative rights over their devices, in the hopes of extracting the most value they can from their compatriots. The following is a step by step tutorial for rooting Samsung Galaxy S3 running KitKat!

Reminders:

  1. As always, before you begin make sure that you have backed up all of your data and has at least 70% battery charge stored. Failure to do so might result in a completely blank or even cause bricking.
  2. Also note that this method is ONLY valid for the Neo variant with model number GT-I9300I. It should also run on 4.4.2.
  3. Be advised to proceed at your own risk, we are not liable for any damage that may occur before, during or after this process.
  4. Also make sure you have enabled USB debugging and installed the relevant USB Drivers.

Instructions

STEP 1:
Download SuperSU and KNOX Removal Script on to your computer.

STEP 2:
Copy both the files in step 1 to your device.

STEP 3:
Download Odin 3.10.0 and extract the files as well.

STEP 4:
From the extracted files in Step 2, locate the .exe file and execute it. This will cause the Odin program to start up.

STEP 5:
Disconnect from computer, turn it off and restart in Download mode. To do this, turn off first,, followed by pressing and holding down the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons altogether until a warning shows up the screen. To proceed, press the Volume Up button.

STEP 6:
Connect to computer again.

STEP 7:
Make sure the Auto Reboot option in is left unchecked.

STEP 7:
Now download TWRP Recovery File and then flash it using the Odin firmware by placing the recovery file in the AP column.

STEP 8:
When finished, you will be presented with a PASS! message. At this point, disconnect, and give it a hard reboot by removing the battery.

STEP 9:
Wait for around twenty minutes, after which you boot into Recovery mode (press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons. Once the screen comes up with the Samsung logo, release the Power key while still holding down the other two to boot into Recovery mode).

STEP 10:
Once you’re in Recovery mode, disable Enable Screen Timeout (found in Settings) and proceed to install the SuperSU and KNOX Removal Script files.

STEP 11:
Once again reboot and you’re all set.

And with that, you now have unrestricted rights and privileges on your rooted device. Now go out and install some crazy ROMS(s)!
